What ages are voice lessons for?A good age to start vocal lessons is typically around 7 - 8 years old. At this age, children have developed enough physical control over their voices and can understand basic musical concepts. However, we do offer our mini music program that offers introductory lessons for younger kids, focusing on fun and creativity. We do not have a cap on our vocal lessons simply because there is none! It is always a good time to start vocal lessons.
-
Do you need any prior experience for voice lessons? No prior experience is needed! Our lessons are designed for beginners as well as more advanced students.
-
What is taught in a voice lesson? Our lessons are structured to fit the education needs and interests of the student. Beginner students will be taught posture, warm ups, along with technical skills like solfege signals and melodic direction. More advanced students will learn skills like harmonizing with others, singing through scales, and singing in different genres. All of these skills will be taught around the interest of the student - whether their goal is to be able to perform a song for their grandpa’s birthday or to audition for a big play - our goal is to keep the student motivated and engaged!
-
What styles of singing do you teach? We offer a variety of styles, including pop, classical, musical theater, and more, tailored to each student’s interests.
-
Can parents attend lessons? We welcome parents to observe lessons, especially for younger students, to stay engaged in their child’s progress.
