CATIE SHEEDY

Associate Instructor

Hi, my name is Catherine Sheedy (Catie)! I grew up in Weatherford, Texas, singing in church, harmonizing with my sisters, and performing in school choirs. Music has always been a huge part of my life, which led me to earn a degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. While my background is in classical voice, I love singing and teaching a variety of styles, including musical theater, pop, worship, and other contemporary genres.

For the past eight years, I’ve run my own voice and piano studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico, working with students of all ages. My teaching style is supportive and encouraging, with a focus on helping students build confidence in their voices while developing strong technique. I believe structure is important, but I also want lessons to be engaging and tailored to each student’s unique goals. What I love most about teaching is seeing how music builds confidence—not just in performance, but in all areas of life. Whether working with kids or adults, I enjoy helping students discover their voices and grow as musicians in a way that feels natural and exciting. Outside of teaching, I love traveling, learning new skills (most recently pottery!), hiking, songwriting, and playing board games.
